Use the chart below to help you get started.
Taking a Course
as a Currently Matriculated UConn Student
- Select an online course from the UConn Online course list. Take note of the class number.
- Review your program of study to confirm the course meets your program requirements.
- Log in to StudentAdmin to check any enrollment restrictions, in-person requirements, proctored exams, etc.
- Log in to StudentAdmin and register for the course
- Prior to the start of the semester, you will receive an email outlining further instructions about accessing your online course.
as Non-degree Student
(those not matriculated in an undergraduate or graduate degree program)
- Select an online course from the UConn Online course list. Take note of class number, department, course catalog number, section number, number of credits.
- If you have not applied as a non-degree student, complete the application process outlined on the Non-Degree and Visiting Student page.
- Once your application is approved, follow the non-degree registration steps.
- Log in to StudentAdmin to check any enrollment restrictions, in-person requirements, proctored exams, etc.
- Log in to StudentAdmin and register for the course.
- Prior to the start of the semester, you will receive an email outlining further instructions about accessing your online course.

Applying to a
Degree or Certificate Program
- Browse the Online Graduate Certificates and Online Master's Degrees available from UConn Online.
- Review the program description for any residency and other program requirements.
- Follow specific instructions on the Degree or Certificate Program website to request more information, take one course as a non-degree student, and/or apply for admission.
