ECE 2001 70 Electrical Circuits 20/28 Summer 2020 AS1 Peoplesoft Course Note: Students registered for this course are required to purchase a textbook, a component kit, a protoyping board, a digital multimeter, and an Active Learning Module (Analog Devices ADALM2000). All of these items are available from the bookstore. The Active Learning Module is specific to the online course and adds a cost of approximately $100. Students are required to participate in proctored exams (four regular exams and a final exam, Friday evenings starting at 6 pm, beginning in the second week) as well as bi-weekly synchronized virtual classroom laboratory sessions (one hour each, Mon 6 pm and Thu 6 pm, starting on the Thursday of the first week). Optional virtual office hours will be held weekly on Wednesday evenings starting at 6 pm. Apart from the pre-scheduled synchronized meetings, other coursework may be completed at students? convenience. An advantage of using the Active Learning Module to conduct experiments remotely is that students may take extra time as necessary to complete experiments and design projects. For a four-credit course offered during a six-week session you should expect to work an average of four hours per day (28 hours per week). Textbook(s): J. W. Nilsson and S. A. Riedel, Electric Circuits, 11th Edition (New York: Pearson, 2019).

Fall 2020 Reg Students registered for this course are required to purchase a textbook, a component kit, a protoyping board, a digital multimeter, and an Active Learning Module (Analog Devices ADALM2000). All of these items are available from the bookstore and should be purchased well in advance of the start of classes. The Active Learning Module is specific to the online course and adds a cost of approximately $160. You will need to download and install a device driver for the ADALM2000 as well as the Analog Devices Scopy application. If you are planning to use a version of the Mac OS or Linux you should check on the availability of drivers for the ADALM2000. In the absence of an available device driver for the ADALM2000, Mac OS users may need to install Boot Camp to use the ADALM2000. Students are required to participate in on-line exams which will be administered using Respondus Lockdown Browser with monitor (four regular exams and a final exam; see the course schedule). You will need a webcam and you will need to install Respondus Lockdown Browser for exams.
