5245. Nursing Leadership Application
2.00 credits
Prerequisites: Open to Graduate nursing students in the Nursing Leadership and Administration concentration only; instructor consent required. Corequisite: NURS 5229.
Grading Basis: Graded
This course focuses on the application of leadership concepts and theories essential for nurse managers and leaders, including differentiation of both roles. Program content on delivery of person-centered care, promotion of self-care management, population health and applying principles of advanced-level nursing education scholarship are further extended in this course. Leadership knowledge for nursing practice, communication, accountability for care delivery, models of care delivery, interprofessional partnership and developing a professional identity are explored with an emphasis on diversity and innovation.
